You can stretch your homeschool budget by adding in some free homeschool curriculum and resources from these ten favorite (and fabulous) websites.
1. Kahn Academy
Math. Oh Math, you wear the black cape of doom and haunt homeschooling moms everywhere. If Math has you (or your child) in tears, check out Kahn Academy.
Every once in awhile I'll send Elijah over to Kahn to watch one of the free videos from the Arithmetic Section. It helps him to hear the explanation from another, more math-minded, person.
Get your "Pin It" button ready and go take a look at what Deep Space Sparkle has to offer–tons of fresh art lessons for kids. The projects we've completed from this site have been enjoyed by my artists and haven't required crazy supplies.
Do you have a student who wants to learn to type? Try Dance Mat Typing . . . it's free!
Learn what notebooking is, how to do it, AND pick up some free printable pages here!
I referred to this site when I discussed Choosing Books for Your Homeschool, but it is worth another mention. I have been a frequent visitor of 1,000 Good Books for many years. If you have a bibliovore, you must check this out . . . gobs and gobs of great books just waiting to be read!
FREE books. Yes, we get gobs and gobs of free books for our Kindles at Project Gutenberg. Saves me a bundle of money.
I use these math games as a fun reward after regular lessons are completed.
8. Storynory
Ever wish someone else could read to {you and} your kids for a bit? Well, someone can. And it's free! Students can even read as they listen. We especially enjoy the Fairy Tales Section and the Classic Section. If you are looking for more free audio books, click on over to read The Best Places to Find Audio Books for Kids.
My boys both enjoy viewing the free science and experiment videos at Steve Spangler Science.
10. Homeschool Share
I know, right? How modest of me.
To be honest, though, I do use Homeschool Share. A lot. And it is FREE. And maybe not all of you have heard of it.
Homeschool Share is an online collaborative; many moms have given their time and talent to share hundreds of lesson plans, unit studies, lapbooks, and other printables. If you haven't ever had a chance, check it out!
What are your favorite websites for free homeschool curriculum? I'd love to know!

I must confess that I didn’t see much after Deep Space Sparkle. I’ve been looking for great resources for art, and you just gave that to me. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing these. I knew about several, but some were new. I also love Homeschool Share and have used it OFTEN over the last few years. You’re entitled to mention it — it’s a great resource! =0)

We don’t have a top 10, but we do use the public domain a fair amount, and I really like archive.org. Thank you for sharing your favourite 10.
