What’s Included in the Mother’s Day Card to Color?
The printable Mother’s Day card includes a stand (on the page with the instructions) and three different templates for you to choose from. Choose the option that best suits the needs of your student.
Option #1: Happy Mother’s Day (simple version)
Option #1 is simple and works well for younger students. The student can color the card and add names to the back of the card.
Option #2: I Love You (with writing lines)
Option #2 provides lots of coloring and gives the student writing lines to create a message for the recipient. This card could be used for a mother, grandmother, or ANY special person in the child’s life.
Option #3: Blank Flower Card to Color
Option #3 is blank. The student can color the images and add messages to the front and back of the card if desired. Alternatively, the student could draw a picture on the back of the flower for the person receiving the card. This option gives your student lots of flexibility allowing maximum creativity!
This card is not limited to Mother’s Day. It can be given to anyone at any time. You could make it for a friend who is sick and needs their day brightened, or you could make it for a special teacher.
Mother’s Day Card Word Bank
The file also includes a word bank to help your students add words to their messages. The word bank will foster ideas for Mother’s Day messages and help with correct spelling.
How to Use the Mother’s Day Printable Card
Choose one of the Mother’s Day card templates and print it on cardstock. Make sure you also print the stand (the page with directions).
Brainstorm with your student. Who is your student going to give the card to? Why? Would your student like to let this person know?
If your student is using an option with writing lines, have your student practice what to write on a piece of paper. Check your student’s work for spelling and capitalization. Have your student copy the work onto the Mother’s Day card.
Color, cut out, and assemble the flower card.
