"The greatest step toward a life of simplicity is to learn to let go."
Mine. It's all mine. We learn this as tots and we start living with our fists tight-closed. Today I'm learning to open my hands in order to let things fly, spurring on toward simple.
I'm learning to let go of . . .
1. Facebook
Not everyone needs to do this, but I gave up my personal account in hopes of a simpler life. I had to do it. And I am so glad I did.
2. What Others Think
Many of my actions are a result of me trying to be the person I think other people think I should be. I'm letting go of that and focusing on who He wants me to be.
3. So Many Options
We are over-the-top in our have-it-my-way culture. I can stand in any aisle at the grocery store and marvel over the endless brands, sizes, and varieties of one simple product like peanut butter or coffee. I'm letting go of so many options and streamlining {closets, pantry, etc.}, in order to live more simply.
What are you letting go?

I am learning to let go of isolation and hiding. To invite others in again…to my home and to my heart. Always learning to let go of the pressure I put on everyone for their chores…upholding instead an atmosphere of lightness and joy. Too much pressure and pushing and needing more encouragement and playfulness.

Awhile back we decided to stop with fb and my blog. (please keep yours-lol!) It was the best decision for our family.
On a side note, worrying about what others think is just plain exhausting (ask me how I know!) I realized it was because of my own fears and insecurities. Now I have little Bible verses all over the house and they are wonderful reminders of who I am in Christ. This is changing me. =0)
thanks for starting this series.

I am letting go of stuff… I will be doing give aways and selling most of my homeschooling/ parenting books in a couple of weeks. I have read each one at least a couple of times… do I really need to keep them all decorating my shelves? I read somewhere that we buy stuff and showcase it as a way to parade/ promote ourselves. Do I need to do that? Who cares how many or what books I have read?
I am downsizing… clothes, shoes, stuff, toys, furniture… I am learning to USE what I have. How ridiculous is it to have stuff and save it for a future use and NEVER use it??? So now, my kids get to play with my scrapping supplies and we get to use it… we get to glue the buttons and gems down!!! hahahaha
Life is to be enjoyed… but I forgot that a while back… getting back to it now. š

Thank you sharing your “letting go” of facebook. We never started that and sometimes people act like we are crazy for not hopping on board. It just didn’t seem to fit into how we want our lives to be or spend our time. Now I don’t feel so weird š

Looking at my first comment, I guess I need to let go of what people think??
