2013
will be the year of waiting
and I don't like waiting
Wait.
Lord, I can't possibly choose wait as my one word. It's ugly.
Can you give me something {anything} else?
I like to rush. Hurry. I want things done fast. With furry. Lightning-quick. Speedy.
But I know I will have to wait . . .
. . .for important documents, for our dossier to be approved, for answers to grant applications, for continued funding, for a referral.
I should be an expert at waiting by now. But I'm not. And I know I don't want wait as my word. Won't wear it heavy, around my wrist or neck.
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.
Right. My focus should not be on the wait. It should go beyond that.
When I wait on the Lord (which is who I'm really waiting on . . . not doctors or employers or case workers or government officials or donors), my strength will be renewed. As I wait, I give up my will and long for His.
I will wait, Lord, because you will renew. Renew. Yes, renew. I can live with that one for a year.
renew
{resume Your work in me
revive my faith
regenerate my hope
reestablish me in Your Word
rebuild my foundation on You
refresh my thirst for grace}
Renew me, Lord.
Renew my strength. {Isaiah 40:31}
Renew my spirit. {Psalm 51:10}
Renew my mind. {Romans 12:2}
Renew me in the wait.
You make me new. You are making me new.
2013 Renew
LeAnn says
Another great word to go with wait is patience. I know that is one fruit of the spirit that I need to ripen.
