Today's topic is 10 Little Things That Make My Day. I was going to skip this one, but then I got to thinking. As usual, I'm going to bend it a bit. Or maybe a lot.
Right now we are in a time of waiting and unknown. Some days are hard, and honestly, my sanity is being saved by one thing: truth.
This sweet friend, before she really even knew me, made me a ringed stack of cards with scriptures and quotes because she knew {better than I did} that I would need to be geared up for a fight. An emotional and spiritual battle that I didn't know was coming. But it came. And it's here.
But God hasn't left me alone in this boxing-wrestling match; He has given me truths to help me through the wait. Here are ten of them.
1. The Lord always keeps His promises; He is gracious in all He does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. -Psalm 145:13b-14
2. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. -Joshua 1:9
3. God is God. Because He is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I will find rest nowhere but in His holy will that is unspeakably beyond my largest notions of what He is up to! -Elizabeth Elliot
4. My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Trust in God at all time, O people, pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge! -Psalm 62:12,8
5. I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize the Lord is able to carry out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me, or how. That is rather for Him to consider than for me; for in the easiest positions He must give me His grace, and in the most difficult, His grace is sufficient. -Hudson Taylor
6. For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs. -Zeph 3:17
7. From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety. -Psalm 6:1-2
8. God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which He must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves. -A.W. Tozer
9. My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praise. -Psalm 57:7
10. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. -II Corinthians 12:9
Thanking God today for truth. Amen.

Have you heard the song “Carry Me” by Josh Wilson? Listening to it may bring you some comfort in your wait.

Amy — what a great list of scripture. We made scripture rings for a friend of ours whose husband has Stage 4 Melanoma and is undergoing the fight of HIS LIFE. My friend told me she relies on those cards — and I can tell you rely on yours, too.
Glad I stopped by to read your post tonight! I’m praying for you as you wait.

My sister-in-law sent this link to me…..I’m so glad she did. We’re adopting from Russia (even met our son) before the ban. I will be making me cards like this to read to myself and meditate on often. Thanks.
