This idea came from MaryAnn Kohl's book, Preschool Art, where you are sure to find many more great preschool art ideas.
This is an easy way to keep your preschooler busy while building fine motor skills and making some pretty art.
Supplies for Weaving Art
-
cardboard
-
yarn
-
scissors
- one preschooler
Directions
- First you need to cut a piece of cardboard into some kind of circular-ish shape with eight notches around the circle.
- Then model for your preschooler how to move the yarn from notch to notch. Let him have a try.
- Weave all around until your preschooler decides he is finished. Cut the yard and taple the end piece to the back of the project.
Turn this project into a Preschool Activity Bag!
-
Make 3-4 notched cardboard circles (or squares or other shapes)
-
Add yarn in smaller Ziploc bags (enough for one project in each small bag)
-
Throw it all into a gallon Ziploc bag
-
Add more yarn and cardboard shapes as needed.
